• In the twilight hour at Arches National Park, the sandstone landscape comes to life with an enchanting blend of pastel colors. The scene is a testament to the beauty of the American Southwest, where adventure and natural wonders abound. The arid landscape, shaped by the forces of erosion and geomorphology, showcases an array of geological marvels and majestic rock formations.

The picture captures the essence of outdoor adventure, as the park's hiking trails and canyonlands beckon visitors to explore its vastness. The sandstone formations, painted with hues of red, orange, and magenta, create a captivating backdrop to the desert landscape.

The scene serves as a reminder that, in life and photography alike, one must remain aware, ready, and actively seeking the unexpected. By staying open to new perspectives and experiences, we can uncover the hidden beauty that might otherwise go unnoticed.

• In this captivating image, the viewer is presented with a breathtaking landscape that showcases the rugged beauty of the American West. Set within the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, the photograph highlights the stark contrast between the black rocks of the cliffside and the vibrant yellow shrubs that dot the scene.

The deep canyons, carved through geological time, provide an extraordinary showcase of geologic diversity. The erosion that has shaped these imposing cliffs has left a lasting testament to the power of nature. The dark, rocky terrain is brought to life with the presence of the yellow shrubs, a mark of autumn foliage that adds a touch of color to the otherwise harsh environment.

The dramatic interplay of light and shadow cast upon the rocky outcrops of the plateau country highlights the intricate patterns and delicate lines that make up the natural canvas. The intense colors found in the landscape work harmoniously together, adding to the overall beauty of the scene. The environmental protection of such areas ensures that future generations can appreciate the raw, untamed wilderness that this image so strikingly conveys.

The Canyon of Color presents a picturesque landscape that serves as a powerful reminder of the natural wonders and majestic views that can be found within the Colorado wilderness. The image stands as a testament to the inspiring destinations and unforgettable landscapes that can be found in the western United States, showcasing the unique beauty of our natural heritage.
• In this striking photograph by Duncan Rawlinson, an almost saddle-like formation in a giant sand dune is captured as the wind and sand are blown towards the camera. The scene showcases the raw beauty and power of nature as it sculpts the landscape through wind and erosion. The fluid motion of the sands forms waves, patterns, and ripples, creating an ever-changing canvas of light, shadows, and contrasts. The sunlit dune set against a backdrop of mountainous vistas gives the image a sense of depth and drama, while the delicate interplay of light and shadows highlights the unique textures of the sand. This photograph is a testament to the resilient and ever-changing beauty of the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Colorado, USA.
Taken from East Grand Wash Road, the image showcases the natural beauty and geological wonder of Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. The vibrant colors and breathtaking landscape invite the viewer to appreciate the serene tranquility and majesty of this rugged terrain, as the sun's rays cast a golden glow over the sandstone formations.
• This atmospheric photograph captures an abandoned well drill rig and truck, left to the elements on Hartnet Road in Cathedral Valley, Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. The rusty machinery, riddled with bullet holes, tells a story of a bygone era, as it stands as a decaying monument to the passage of time. The contrast between the man-made structures and the rugged natural beauty of the desert creates a captivating scene, inviting viewers to ponder the history of this forsaken machinery and the stories it could tell.
• This photograph captures the serene moment of a moonrise near Pierce Draw in Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. The photographer (Duncan Rawlinson) ventured off-road deep into the park and witnessed this breathtaking scene. As the moon rises against a pastel sky formed by the shadow of the Earth just after sunset, it illuminates the park's deep red soil and dramatic landscape. This tranquil and enchanted moment serves as a beautiful testament to the natural wonders found within Capitol Reef National Park.
• Burner Climbing The Catacomb of Veils from: San Francisco, CA year: 2016

Catacomb rises like a rocky outcropping off the desert floor, evoking Black Rock Point itself. It is a ruin of a previous society– a remnant of our collective search for moments of quiet, introspection and reflection. It is a journey of discovery and a descent into a subterranean world.

A path winds up to the Narthex at the eastern Pyramid and from this vantage point, the inward descent begins. Ancient relics of a collective history grace the walls as shafts of light illuminate effigies and offerings. These are moments in our primeval memory, inviting us further downward and inward into ourselves. The journey culminates in an inner sanctum– a sanctuary of veils– a confluence of concealment, revelation and sublime beauty. URL: https://www.facebook.com/CatacombOfVeils

 • Forest of Dreams by Laura Kimpton and crew

The Forest of Dreams is formed of 40 trees, 10ft tall, all made of steel. The trees are to be arranged on a square grid, 10 trees by 10 trees, placed in concentrically smaller grids and culminating in an open area at the center. The forest will be bathed in dancing LED lights of multitude of colors shining through the shaped cutouts in the trees. Citizens of Black Rock Desert will be able to see the forest for miles. My hope is the forest will be placed in deep playa past the temple so it will be dark enough for the forest to shine. Our hope is for participants will interact with the forest in the most magical way. As one will enter the forest, the will find a world of colorful beauty where one can let go, dance, be silly, discover a new more playful self. As an installation artist my goal is to create art that is experiential. With the Forest, participants not only physically walk through and explore the piece, they get lost in the space and become one with the forest.
• FIRE by Zoe Fry and The Introverts Collective

The FIRE Installation appears as a grove of fire ravaged Manzanita trees in stark contrast to the white canvas of the Black Rock Desert. Each tree stands as a unique sculpture, an individual entity, made more beautiful by its initial struggle for sun, the resistance to gravity, and ultimately the sculpting by blazing wildfire heat.

The installation poses questions regarding humanities ongoing relationship to the element of fire. Is FIRE friend or foe; teacher, healer, provider or malevolent force? Accompanying the grove an interactive altar provides a space for 2D art and written word responses to the questions.
